I see myself as a guide who listens and creates a compassionate and safe space for you to explore and discover.  Having therapeutic experience with trauma survivors and folks in the prison system, I hold fast to the notion that humans are resilient and brave and change can happen.

My holistic systemic approach incorporates an integration of modalities including narrative, attachment, emotionally focused, strengths based and internal family systems as well as others suited to each individual.  I work with all adults, specializing in women and young adults including folks in the LGBTQI+ community.

  • A common wedge between individuals is behavior and communication challenges around past and present experiences that get in the way. These experiences can bring negative patterns of behavior and communication into a relationship creating a spiral that is difficult to change by ourselves.  Through collaborative, narrative, emotionally focused, multigenerational and integrative therapies, Macie works to uncover and heal those wounds that challenge healthy, supportive relationships while building new and positive patterns.

Macie has experience working with traditional couples as well as folks within the LGBTQI+ community.

Couple/Partner therapy can be via telehealth or Macie’s office.  Are you ready to make a positive change in your relationship? Reach out.

  • Families can be our greatest source of love, strength and laughter and our greatest source of tears.

Does your family appear as though everything is smooth sailing to the world with choppy waters churning behind closed doors?

Is there more arguing and fighting than laughing?  Is there defiance where there used to be compliance?

     Do members feel like scapegoats?

A family therapist listens to each individual and their role in the family system without judgment, seeking solutions along with new patterns of communication and behavior that work toward the family’s goals.  Macie is specifically trained in family systems therapy.  She will meet with both the whole family and  individuals as needed.

Macie is personally experienced in family challenges including marriage, separation, divorce and blending families.  She brings a unique expertise that can be beneficial to your family’s wellbeing.

Working from an integrative approach, Macie uses solution focused, narrative, multigenerational, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and other modalities that best fit the needs of the client.

Working with a trained therapist has been shown to be beneficial in developing strategies to deal with past experiences, everyday stressors and challenges, discovering new directions through changing life roles and stages (empty nest, college graduation & young adulthood, divorce, middle age) and ways to unpack negative communication and behavior patterns that are getting in the way of relationships and life. A therapist can help you:

  • Find ways to process and deal with happenings beyond your control both past and present

  • Work through trauma and tragedy to live a full life

  • Navigate family dynamics through life’s transitions and defiant behaviors

  • Strengthen relationships – couples, families, individuals

  • Seek relief from depression/anxiety, phobias, codependency, addiction and other challenges

  • Change diet and exercise habits in light of a diagnosis or chronic illness

Macie sees individuals, couples and families who live in NC both in her office and virtually. Fees for service range from $125-$200 per session depending on duration and whether it is individual, couple or family therapy.

She also consults and facilitates workshops on organizational culture development, and relational and ethical leadership.  Fees for workshops are negotiated and vary depending on topic, length and audience.

We do not currently take insurance and will collect the full amount at the conclusion of each session. If your insurance company will reimburse you for a therapy session, we can provide a statement after each session with a diagnosis you can submit to your provider.  If you use an HSA or FSA, you can also use that for payment. Please do not let finances be the reason you avoid treatment, reach out, as you have already been brave enough to come this far.

Macie also leads Group Therapy sessions which can be cost effective at approximately $60 an hour.  These groups vary in time and focus depending on need and interest.  If you are interested in this option, please reach out below and let us know!
